Board of Selectmen

PUBLIC CRIME NOTICE

The Town of Sandisfield has recently been struck by a series of break-ins/robberies; within the past week, five houses in Otis Woodlands (two on the Sandisfield side) and one on Cronk Road have been targeted.  Sandisfield Police Chief Michael Morrison has beefed up patrols in these areas and is conducting an investigation in collaboration with the Otis Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police. We are asking that Sandisfield residents take proper precautions when leaving their homes such as locking all areas of potential entry, being aware of suspicious vehicles/people in your neighborhood and checking in on neighbors’ homes who might be out of town. These crimes are currently being investigated; if anyone has information regarding this crime spree, please contact the Sandisfield Police Department (413-258-4742)  or the Massachusetts State Police (413-243-0600).

The Sandisfield Board of Selectmen would like to thank you for visiting our webpage.  As stipulated by Massachusetts General Laws, our Board is the executive authority for the Town of Sandisfield.  In this capacity we are responsible for calling town elections, town meetings, and publishing the annual town warrant.  We are in charge of hiring town counsel, appointing certain town officials and filling unexpected vacancies on elected boards.  The Selectmen sign warrants for paying town bills, and grant all local licenses and permits.  Just as important, the Board provides leadership in setting policy and strategic direction for Sandisfield and troubleshooting various problems that arise in our community.  We encourage the public to attend our meetings, lending their voice to the democratic process as we strive to improve the quality of life in Sandisfield.  Anyone interested in bringing an issue to our attention may do so by contacting our administrative assistant Dolores Harasyko via the contact information listed above.  Please be aware that in order for the selectmen to act on an issue we must follow the guidelines spelled out by the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law.

To contact the select board by email, please go to the contact page of this website.
